What We Don’t Do
While we at AVT are often involved in many aspects of a patient’s care, we are not a primary veterinary facility or an emergency/urgent care facility, nor do we offer diagnostic imaging. All of our patients must still have a primary veterinarian to care for their ongoing medical and surgical needs. We pride ourselves on maintaining excellent relationships with area veterinary clinics and we work very well with them to provide the best care for your pet.
What To Expect
Initial appointments generally take 60-90 minutes. Before your initial visit, our doctor will review all available medical records for your pet. During your initial appointment, you will first review your pet’s medical history and your current concerns with the doctor. Then the doctor will perform a comprehensive examination of your pet, thoroughly evaluating the patient utilizing tools from Western medicine, Eastern medicine, and neuromusculoskeletal assessments. At that point, both you and the doctor will discuss your pet and make treatment decisions together. We cannot stress this enough! Every patient is an individual, and you, their owner, know them best. We at AVT will always work with you to make the best treatment plan for both you and your pet, taking into consideration both your needs. At that point, your pet will receive their first treatment.
For almost all patients, we set up an ongoing care plan. This plan is highly dependent upon the medical and mobility status of your patient. Most patients will require re-evaluation and follow-up treatments at 2 week intervals initially, with the ongoing treatment schedule based on patient condition and response to treatment. Follow-up treatments typically take 30-60 minutes depending on the treatment(s) performed. Our goal is always to find the balance between the most effective and least frequent treatment intervals.
Prices
The cost of the initial consultation, evaluation and treatment ranges from $360 - $453 depending on the complexity of each patient’s case and their individual needs. Prescriptions (herbs, supplements, medications) and additional treatment modalities (laser therapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, PEMF therapy) are charged in addition to the initial consultation price.
